Damelin Correspondence College (Pty) Ltd has been granted provisional registration by the Department of Higher Education and Training as a private FET College, until 31 December 2014. Learners only have until May/June 2014 to obtain this qualification
GROUP 1: Learners with Senior Certificate credits
If you are registered with the Department of Basic Education, in other words, you have registered and sat for a previous Senior Certificate Grade 12 examination, you are eligible to enrol.
• A certified copy of your Senior Certificate Statement of Results will be required as proof of having sat for a previous Senior Certificate examination.
• You must register with the Provincial Department of Basic Education by 30 September 2011, to write the examinations in May/June 2012.
GROUP 2: 21 years and older – first- time Senior Certificate candidates
If you are 21 years old, or older, and have not written a Senior Certificate examination before, you have one FINAL opportunity to get onto the Department of Basic Education’s system as a Senior Certificate candidate.
This is subject to the following conditions:
• You will have to write a letter to the Provincial Department of Education (addressed to the Head of Department of the province), requesting approval to write the Senior Certificate examinations for the first time.
• You must receive written approval from the Provincial Department of Education to register for the external examinations for the first time in 2011.
• You must register with the Provincial Department of Basic Education by 30 September 2011, in order to write the May/June 2012 examinations.
GROUP 3: Grade11/Standard 9 (old curriculum) – first- time Senior Certificate candidates
• If you passed Grade 11/Standard 9 on the old curriculum, and you have certified proof from the institution at which you passed Grade 11/Standard 9, you will be eligible to enrol as a first- time Senior Certificate candidate for 2011 only.
• It will be your responsibility to register with the Provincial Department of Basic Education by 30 September 2011 for the May/June 2012 Senior Certificate examinations.
NB: Learners will NOT be allowed to register as first-time Senior Certificate candidates after 2011. Only learners who have registered and sat for a previous Senior Certificate examination will be allowed to register in 2012 and 2013.
